You don’t need to go far from Edinburgh or Glasgow to visit some incredible distilleries and breweries…
Tour & Tasting at Glengoyne Distillery – Glengoyne is a fantastic place to start your day of exploring. You’ll be taken through the whisky-making process and learn about what makes Glengoyne unique. We would recommend their wee tasting tour – which includes a dram of their delicious 12-year-old at the beginning and an 18-year old dram to end the tour. Their location is another draw of this distillery, you can visit the waterfall in the hidden glen out the back of the distillery.
Warehouse 4 Experience at Deanston Distillery – Deanston now offer a Warehouse Experience. Sitting amongst ageing casks is arguably one of the best places to get to know a whisky. Drawing and tasting whisky straight from the cask is an unforgettable experience. It’s a bit more pricy than your standard tour and tasting but it’s worth it!
Beer or gin (or both) tasting at Bridge of Allan Brewery – Allanwater Brewery began life in 1996 when Douglas decided to turn his love for beer and brewing into this fantastic micro-brewery and pub. You’ll get a warm welcome, a chance to try an incredibly unique and inventive range of beers and basically, it’ll be hard for us to drag you out! We love it here and think it’s a fantastic way to end a tour!

A tour perfect for Highland whisky lovers
Our journey starts from Inverness and we will travel up the east coast to Pultney Distillery in Wick. Established in 1826, it’s characteristics are attributed to maturation close to the sea air, making it “the genuine maritime malt”.
We’ll pop into Balblair Distillery for a taste of their delicious single malt and a chance to fill your own bottle before heading to the pretty town of Dornoch and the stunning Dornoch Castle Hotel.
We’ve arranged a special tasting before dinner (own expense) at the Dornoch Castle Hotel.
We’ll have a leisurely start and hearty breakfast before we visit Glenmorangie Distillery perched next to the tranquil shores of the Dornoch Firth, it is known for having the tallest stills in Scotland.
Before returning to Inverness we will visit Glen Ord Distillery, the only remaining distillery on the Black Isle. We will try a range of their delicious single malts.
